Aspect Ratio

Aspect Ratio

  • Aspect Ratio describes the dimension of an image by comparing the width and height, in the form of Width : Height.
  1. Cinema screens  -  1.85:1 or 1.43:1 (IMAX).
  2. Television screens  -  4:3 or 1.33:1 (older format).
  3. More common widescreen  - 16:9 or 1.77:1 and 21:9 or 2.33:1(newer).

    • Aspect Ratio is adjust for both portrait and Landscape modes.

    • By using Aspect Ratio we can save the time and rework as a designer.
    • By this we can understand where to crop and what parts of an image or project will be dropped.
